Fort Lauderdale, FL – February 9, 2006- According to data from Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (ACHA), from the second quarter of 2000 through the first quarter of 2005, Harold Roberts, M.D., cardiovascular surgeon and Vice Chief of Surgery on the Medical Executive Committee at Florida Medical Center, has performed more mitral valve repairs than any other surgeon in the entire State of Florida, ranking #1 in Broward County, #1 in South Florida and #1 in the State. He performed one of every four mitral valve repairs in Broward County and one of every eight in South Florida. During the latest year of AHCA’s data collection, second quarter of 2004 through the first quarter of 2005, Dr. Roberts performed more mitral valve surgeries (both repairs and replacements combined) than any other physician in the State of Florida.
